If you have never tried dried limas, this is the recipe for you.  These are great; especially good as an accompaniment to a barbecue.

JOHN PAUL’S LIMAS

1 pound baby lima beans, dried
2 teaspoons salt
¼  pound butter
1 cup sour cream
½  cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon molasses (unsulphured)

Put beans in water to cover by two inches.  Bring to a boil.  Boil for 2 minutes.  Remove from heat and let sit for 1 hour.  Then simmer one hour with salt.  Drain beans.
Add butter.
Mix remaining ingredients.  Add to beans.

Cook at 325° F. for 45 minutes.

Andover Lake tested! Yummy!
