Apple Sour Cream Pie
9-inch graham cracker crust* (see recipe below)
For filling:
2 tablespoons flour
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup (one-half pint) sour cream
6 medium apples, peeled, pared, and sliced
For topping::
Preheat oven to 400° F.
Combine all filling ingredients except apples. Add apples to the mix and pour mixture into graham-cracker crust.
Bake for 15 minutes at 400° F., then reduce heat to 350° F. and bake 30 minutes longer.
Remove pie from oven, close oven door and raise oven temperature back up to 400° F.
Combine topping ingredients and crumble over pie. Put pie back in oven and bake at 400° F. for another ten minutes.
Serve warm or cold.
6 tablespoons honey grahams
6 tablespoons soft butter
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Crush crackers. Add sugar and cinnamon.
Melt butter and stir into crumbs. Press into 9-inch pie pan.
Bake at 325°F. until lightly browned, 10 to 12 minutes; cool before filling.
** If using packaged graham-cracker crumbs,
For a 9″ pie plate, use
1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup melted butter or margarine
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Bake at 375°F. for 8 minutes, per package directions.
